Hearing on Development at 4301 Bellaire Blvd.

August 6, 2014 by Bellaire Essentials Staff Leave a Comment

Bellaire’s Board of Adjustment will hold a public hearing tonight at 7 p.m., on a commercial planned development at 4301 Bellaire Blvd.
Sloan Properties LLC is seeking two variances from the board for a two-story mixed use retail center on the site of the old Westside Christian Church. The church recently sold the 1.05 acre site.
Residential neighbors have protested the new development, saying that it will hurt their property values.
The public hearing is about the developers’ request for a variance to have a site width of 120 feet, instead of the 150 feet minimum required by the city of Bellaire. The developers also are seeking a special exception for a parking lot on the utility easement near the property.
Speakers at the public hearing will be asked to limit their comments to six minutes.
The meeting will be held at Bellaire City Hall, 7801 S. Rice Ave.
