HISD adds new tool for reporting threats, crimes

November 18, 2022 by Charlotte Aguilar

Houston ISD is making it easier to respond to its “See something, say something” campaign of dealing with campus threats or crimes by adopting an online tool to report any issues directly to HISD police.

The Axon Citizen for Communities is accessible through its portal or through the HISD police webpage to make reports and upload of videos, pictures and documents for review. Anyone using the tool will be required to provide contact information, including their name, birthdate, address and phone number.

The district’s police department also maintains a 24-hour hotline, 713-892-7777, which will continue to be an option.

Houston ISD Police Chief Pedro Lopez Jr.

“We have always said that safety is a collaborative effort, and we want to make the collaboration easier,” said HISD Police Chief Pedro Lopez.  “This will be another tool to build trust and allow us to work with our community to ensure our students stay safe in a way that is transparent.”
