HISD: No More Trees To Be Removed From Pershing (with slideshow)

June 30, 2008 by Essentials Staff Leave a Comment

Several handmade signs have been placed on the fences surrounding asking the Houston Independent School district to leave the remaining trees standing.
The signs, which appear to have been made by children, contain messages such as, “trees are mother nature,” “trees are beautiful, do not cut,” and “please stop cutting down trees.”
Several trees have been cut down recently to make room for the school’s new fields. An HISD representative said the district was not aware of the signs, but that were no plans to cut down any more trees.
