The Houston Independent School District Police Department Canine Unit and the Houston Police Department Canine Unit will host a 2008 Narcotics Canine Seminar July 21 - July 25 at Furr Sr. High School, 520 Mercury. A public demonstration will be held at 10 a.m. July 25 at the high school.
Law enforcement K9 teams from several police agencies will take part in the seminar. Participants will be exposed to a variety of visual, physical and mental challenges designed to prepare and enhance the police canine handler for real world scenarios and realistic problem solving. Participants will also receive emergency first aid instruction for their canine partners as well as instruction in acquiring DEA and DPS Narcotics Registrations and Training Documentation.
