Houston ISD schools may dismiss early today because of the weather, but an official early dismissal has yet to be announced.
HISD personnel is monitoring the situation and will make a decision sometime this morning based on the most current forecast information.
All athletic events and trips, after school activities and field trips scheduled today and Friday have been cancelled.
Parents and employees are asked to monitor the local news overnight for any potential schedule changes. No decision has been made about school on Friday.
HISD schools, along with other power company customers, experienced controlled power outages ordered statewide in order to conserve power. The rolling outages could potentially continue today.
