The new Chief of the Houston Independent School District Police Department is a familiar name in local law enforcement. Jimmie L. Dotson served in the Houston Police Department from 1974 to 1997, working his way up to Executive Assistant Chief of Police. He replaces Charles Wiley, who is now Galveston’s Police Chief.
