Learn about the impact that the growth of Houston’s automobile culture and freeway system had on the Houston area, including the removal of homes in Bellaire in the 1960s, at a meeting Thursday night of the Bellaire Historical Society.
Oscar “Erik” Slotboom, author of a book on the history of the area’s freeways, will be the speaker, starting at 6:30 p.m. in the CenterPoint Energy Community Center at Bellaire Town Square, 7001 Fifth St.
Admission and refreshments are free. Raffle tickets will be sold for one of the books.
