HPD Investigating Possible Sexual Assault Of 13-year-old Near West U.

February 18, 2009 by Bellaire Essentials Staff Leave a Comment

The Houston Police Department’s Juvenile Sex Crimes Division is investigating the possible sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl on Feb. 8 in the 3000 block of Drake.

The alleged assault took place near Drake and Auden, outside of West U. city limits, and the West U. Police Department is not involved in the investigation.

According to representatives of HPD, the alleged sexual assault occurred between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., and was reported within an hour. There are apparently several different versions of what happened, as well as several different descriptions of the suspect.

Police say it is very early in the investigation, but that the department is taking the allegations very seriously and “looking into everything.”

A crime analysis has been performed, and no other similar incidents have occurred in this area recently, according to an HPD spokesperson. HPD officers in that patrol area have been told to be on the lookout for any suspicious persons, and anyone who sees anything or anyone suspicious should call HPD’s Juvenile Sex Crimes Division at 713-731-5335.
