Huffington park will reveal its $150,000 transformation with its reopening expected by the end of June, weather
permitting, with renovations facilitated by a donation from the Friends of West University Parks Place Fund. The upgraded park will have a nautical-themed play structure specifically designed for children up to age six, allowing more children to play simultaneously. The park’s historical favorites - the “whale” play structure and one new “dolphin” spring rider will be incorporated into the playground.
Most of the park’s green space was preserved through the renovation. The addition of a decorative, secure fence around the park’s perimeter will provide a safe environment for the estimated 100 residents that visit the park every day. In addition to the $150,000 from Friends for this park, a generous donation from Club 2012 permitted the purchase of a new water fountain for this park.
