Ingraham Endorses Dist. 17 Candidate Furse

October 30, 2008 by Essentials Staff Leave a Comment

Political commentator and talk show host Laura Ingraham has endorsed District 17 Republican candidate Austen Furse.
In a video featured on the Internet site YouTube.com, Ingraham says, “Austen is one of my closest friends, and I know Austen is a true conservative with deep experience. He has worked in all areas of government to reduce our taxes, protect private property rights and also to protect the lives of the unborn. He has conservative credentials that extend from the local to the national level, including his work with local county republicans and as White House director of policy planning for (former) President George H. W. Bush.”
The special election to be held Nov. 4 will fill the vacancy created by Sen. Kyle Janek’s resignation. A runoff will follow if no candidate in the special election gets a majority of the vote. On the ballot are Democrats Chris Bell and Stephanie Simmons and Republicans Joan Huffman, a Southside Place resident and former Harris County felony court judge, Furse, West U. resident, businessman and former George H.W. Bush Administration appointee and Harris County Republican precinct chair Grant Harpold.
