JUST IN: Bellaire to offer emergency bottled water to residents today

February 20, 2021 by Charlotte Aguilar

Bellaire will distribute bottled water to residents in urgent need for from 1-3 p.m. (or while supplies last) today (Saturday, Feb. 20) at a drive-thru in the parking lot on the northwest corner of the South Rice Avenue/Jessamine Street intersection, across from the Fire Department.

Supplies are limited, and each household may receive one case. Only persons in vehicles will be served — no walk-ups. City workers will load the water into the rear of the vehicle, for COVID-19 safety, and masks must be worn.

Those wishing to participate should drive south on South Rice and line up far right. Exit will be onto Jessamine Street.

With a boil-water order extending at least through the weekend, Bellaire said it would try to offer additional water pickups.
