Lamar Student Wins Watches In Blood Center Promotion

June 5, 2008 by Essentials Staff Leave a Comment

Lamar High School student Ermanique Davis is the winner of a set of his and hers Fossil-brand Commit for Life watches from Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center. Seventeen-year-old Davis is one of 12 winners who will receive a set of watches through The Blood Center’s Diamonds for Donors promotion that took place during April and May. One donor will take home the grand prize - a piece of diamond jewelry.
Davis, who plays on her school’s basketball team, is a first-time blood donor. “I felt I was doing a good deed. It felt great,” she says about her experience. “I want to donate again at our blood drive in the fall.” She plans to give her newly won watches to her mother and father.
Those who donate twice between June 1 and Sept. 30 will be eligible to win a gift card to Target. After a second successful donation in the promotion period, donors may log on to the Commit for Life store at www.givebloodet.org to order their gift card.
For more information or to schedule a donation, visit www.giveblood.org or call 1-888-482-5663.
