Bellaire police pulled over a vehicle on Monday night for driving without lights in the 5200 block of Bissonnet and found a wanted Michigan murder suspect inside.
The vehicle was occupied by a female driver, two males and a child. The driver had an expired driver’s license, no insurance and an expired inspection certificate.
The officer ran a check on the front male passenger to make sure he could drive the vehicle and found several outstanding warrants from Michigan for murder, armed robbery, home invasion and other weapon related charges.
The suspect, Mike West, 28, had felony warrants for his arrest from 2005 under the alias name Bryant Mitchell Henderson.
He had been incarcerated in the Texas Department of Corrections in 2006 and had been arrested five times in Harris County using the name Mike West.
West is wanted by the city of Flint, Michigan Police Department. He has his hometown of “Flint” tattooed on his right arm.
West is currently detained in the Harris County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Michigan.
