New Exhibit At Health Museum Is All About You

June 9, 2008 by Essentials Staff Leave a Comment

The John P. McGovern Museum of Health and Medical Science opened this weekend the first permanent exhibit since 1996. “You: The Exhibit” uses multi-media and special effects technology to explore and discover the physical, mental and future “you.”
In the Mirror of Heredity exhibit, visitors will see how their physical traits make them different from other museum visitors. In Feature Change, visitors can change their hair or eyes to see how these features affect who they are. In Age-O-Matic, visitors can see how they will look in 30 years. In Global View, museum-goers can experience how life in Houston is compared to life in other cities around the world, and how life would change in a different region. In Neurobot, participants control a robot’s sight, balance, voice and motor skills in an interactive device that mimics the function of the human brain.
The Health Museum is open Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. For more information call 713-521-1515 or visit www.thehealthmuseum.org.
