The Bellaire Triangle — developed in 1959 and seeing a resurgence as a foodie destination — is about to get its first-ever full-scale renovation, according to MC Management and Development and Shop Companies.
The project will begin later this year and will be accomplished in phases. When completed, Shop Companies says it will bear traces of the original mid- century modern design and colors with exposed steel columns, brick parapet walls, and local artists’ public art installations.
Highlight of the makeover will be redeveloping the open-air arcade running between the two main buildings.
The Triangle includes 70,000 square feet of space in three buildings and runs from where Bellaire Boulevard and Bissonnet street cross, at its eastern end, across Mapleridge Street, with Chimney Rock at its western edge.

Among the tenants are longtime occupant Bellaire Coffee Shop, the relocated Auntie Pasto’s, and newer eateries including Blood Bros. BBQ, plus a number of other retail, healthcare, personal care and educational facilities, with second-floor office space.
