New “Tiny Tots Swim Time” Offered At Colonial Park Pool

July 18, 2008 by Essentials Staff Leave a Comment

The West U. Parks and Recreation Department is offering a new program at Colonial Park Pool thanks to a group of mothers who tried to organize a morning play date at the pool, only to find it closed to children.
The mothers showed up with their children at 9:30 a.m. - the pool opens to children at 10 a.m. Phyllis Segal and former Councilman Steven Segal contacted Parks and Recreation staff members proposing their idea of an early morning tots swim time.
It became a topic of discussion with staff and the Parks and Recreation Board deciding it was an excellent program idea that would benefit the community. The first “Tiny Tots Swim Time” will be from 8-10 a.m. July 26. This program is limited to ages 4 and younger and will be held in the wading pool. The lap pool will remain closed for public swim until 10am.
Tiny Tots Swim Time will be offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturday mornings from 8-10am. Regular pool admission or membership will grant access to this new program.
