Summer Day Camp has become a tradition in the life of 10-year-old Adam Glombicki, and this summer he is going to try a new experience – the new Fitness Camp offered by the Jewish Community Center.
The JCC’s Fitness Camp is geared for kids who want to learn techniques to keep in shape. Kids will learn from a dietician on eating habits and experience a renewed sense of everyday activity that will allow them to live a healthy lifestyle through exercise, sport and good decision making.
“I thought it would be fun, plus it will help me get better in the sports I play,” said Glombicki, who is naturally competitive with two teenage brothers who both have participated in Maccabi Games playing soccer and tennis.
Campers entering 5th – 10th grades in September can still sign up for Fitness Camp. It is tailored to individual bodies and fitness goals. The 2-week camp includes calisthenics, Pilates, Yoga, sports, Hip-Hop, Boot Camp and will end with a special field trip. Tween/Teen Fitness Camp runs June 22 – July 3 and August 10 – 14.
