Ominous New Information Released On Missing 12-Year-Old Boy

SEARCH CONTINUES – Authorities are continuing the search for 12-year-old Jonathan Foster, missing since Christmas Eve.

The search for a missing 12-year-old Houston boy has taken an ominous turn with the disclosure that his mother received a “mysterious” phone call about the time the boy was last seen, and Houston Police homicide investigators have been brought into the case.

Twelve-year-old Jonathan Foster was last seen Friday afternoon just before 2 p.m. on Houston’s near north side.

Foster had been staying with a babysitter near North Shepherd and 43rd Street when he left to go to his family’s nearby apartment to get some video games. That was the last time he was seen.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert for Foster just after 6 p.m. Monday and are now releasing some disturbing new information about the boy’s disappearance.

Houston Police are now saying the boy’s mother received what they described as a “mysterious” telephone call from a woman with a raspy voice shortly after the time the boy disappeared. Investigators have not released the nature of the call, but believe it was related to the missing boy.

HPD homicide investigators have been called in to assist in the questioning of possible witnesses. Authorities are handling the case as a possible kidnapping.

The boy lives with his mother and stepfather at the Villa Nueva apartment complex in the 800 block of Oak Street, near where the boy vanished. He also has numerous friends and relatives in the nearby area, and it was not uncommon for him to walk to their homes, police said.

Detectives seized a computer from Foster’s home in an effort to determine if the boy had been in contact with anyone online prior to his disappearance.

The child’s relatives are reportedly cooperating with the investigation.

When last seen, Foster was wearing a tan-colored T-shirt with the images of a guitar and musical notes on it, blue jeans and black and white tennis shoes with a red stripe. He also had a gray zip-up hoodie style jacket.

Foster is a Caucasian male, 4-feet 8-inches to 5-feet tall, weighing about 100 pounds. He has reddish or light brown hair and blue eyes. He was also described as having a noticeable overbite and a scar on his left foot.

The boy sometimes goes by the nickname “JP.”

Texas Equusearch has been combing the area for signs of the boy using volunteers on foot and on ATVs.

Anyone having information on Foster’s disappearance or possible whereabouts is asked to contact the Houston Police Department at 713-731-5223.
