Parks Board to review next phase of Evelyn’s development

January 14, 2019 by Charlotte Aguilar

A presentation outlining plans for Phase 2 of Evelyn’s Park will highlight the January meeting of the Bellaire Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee on Wednesday (Jan. 16).

The meeting will start at 6 p.m. in the CenterPoint Energy Community Center at the Bellaire Family Aquatics Center, 7001 Fifth St.

Representatives of the Evelyn’s Park Conservancy will make the presentation. The five-acre parkland, at 4400 Bellaire Blvd., was the gift of the late Evelyn Rubenstein’s family. Its first phase opened on Earth Day 2017, funded by private donations and $5 million in bonds approved by Bellaire taxpayers.

Also on the agenda is a review of the parks board’s annual report that will be presented as part of the State of the City event on Feb. 4 at the new City Hall.

The entire agenda can be viewed here.
