Bucky Ribbeck, a senior at at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory School, and his two younger brothers Eric and Jimmy spent Christmas Eve spreading cheer throughout the halls of Texas Children’s Hospital.
The Ribbeck family enlisted the help of friends to bake homemade cookies then boxed these for each of the families on the hospital’s 9th floor. They also left trays of cookies for the staff to enjoy on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Bucky Ribbeck has played football and baseball since his freshman year at Strake Jesuit. But last year he was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma so doctors immediately treated him for this cancer that primarily is found in younger children. He was treated at Texas Children’s Hospital.
Ribbeck started volunteering at the hospital to help those who were also undergoing treatments keep positive attitudes. Many of the patients are much younger, so they look up to Ribbeck and together, they are fighting a brave fight.
