Pershing Middle School Students To Take Part In Colonial Day

Pershing Middle School students will participate in Colonial Day on Thursday, Sept. 23.
All departments will participate in Colonial Day, which will include drum and fife for band class, a short skit covering the tradition of jumping the broom for drama class, examples of the classroom at that time for math class and readings from the time period for Language Arts.
Students will also participate in outdoor games of the time during PE class and inside games that were played during that time period in Art.
Each department will present a project in its classrooms during Colonial Day.
The school will have a small science lab that is consistent of the time period and students will provide hands on views of farming in History class, as well as candle and candy making.
Other activities include churning butter and writing with quill pens.
