The Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) will shut down all lanes of the Southwest Freeway (69) at the West Loop (610) in both directions and close a number of connectors, exit and entrance ramps starting at 9 tonight (Friday, Sept. 24) and lasting through 5 a.m. Monday — and will repeat the closing next weekend.
It’s all part of a $259 million, multi-year construction project, and these disruptions will expedite building a new northbound connector ramp from the northbound 69 to the northbound 610. The ramp is expected to be completed by the end of the year, arching over the Southwest Freeway.
Motorists are being warned to expect delays and to consider using alternate routes. Additional information can be found here and at the project website, www.HOU610at69.com.
