Plumb/Kirby Intersection To Remain Closed; University/Kirby Intersection Reopened

July 18, 2008 by Essentials Staff Leave a Comment

Contractors for the City of Houston anticipate the continued closure on Plumb Street at Kirby Drive for the paving through this intersection in the coming week. East side paving will also continue, and the University Boulevard intersection has reopened. The contractor also anticipates the closure of the Amherst Street and Times Boulevard area shortly thereafter.
Contractors have completed the installation of storm water boxes on the west side of Kirby Drive, to approximately 100 feet south of Kirby Drive’s intersection with Robinhood Street. These storm water boxes have also received their post-installation cleaning, and the transition work on these facilities is underway for the next segment. Paving of west side lanes to a point 100 feet south of Kirby Drive’s intersection with Robinhood Street will continue, and is tentatively scheduled to be complete by the first week of August. Current northward progress on the west side of Kirby Drive has reached Plumb Street.
