A 17-year-old Houston resident was arrested on Aug. 14 for possession of marijuana.
The 17-year-old, whose name was not released by West U Police, was pulled over at 12 a.m. in the 6400 block of Academy for a defective license plate light.
During the traffic stop, the officer could smell a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle, police said.
The officer found two plastic bags containing marijuana on the floor of the vehicle.
The 17-year-old was arrested for possession of marijuana. His passenger, a 17-year-old Houston resident, was released to a parent.
