A West U police officer noticed a woman walking unsteadily in the 2600 block of Bissonnet around 1 a.m. and watched as she stumbled across the road without looking for oncoming traffic, police said.
The officer tried to assist the woman back across the street to the Marquis Bar where she said her husband was, but the officer could not locate him.
When the officer tried asking her what her husband looked like and where he was, she became uncooperative, police said.
Police tried putting Linda Wistrom, 28, into the patrol car for her own safety, but she tried to jam the door to keep the officer from closing it, Lt. Charlie Deily said.
Wistrom became more aggressive and started hitting the window in the patrol car, he said.
She was arrested for public intoxication and was bonded out from jail at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 16.
On Oct. 10, police arrested Cynthia Lones, a 36-year-old Houston resident, for public intoxication.
Police found Lones standing in the intersection of Tangley and Buffalo Speedway around 9:18 p.m., attempting to flag down motorists.
The officer could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. Lones also had two flat tires and damage to the right front rim and bumper of her vehicle and didn’t know what happened, police said.
Lones was arrested for public intoxication and was released from jail after posting a cash bond.
