Police Ask Residents To Move Cars In Marathon Route

January 8, 2009 by Essentials Staff Leave a Comment

The 2009 Chevron Houston Marathon will run through West U. Jan. 18, and those residents not in the direct route will most likely at least hear announcements from Paul Wallin Field and the live band on University Boulevard. The first runners are expected in the area around 7 a.m., and all closed streets are expected to reopen at 11 a.m.

The marathon’s path will travel west along University Blvd from Kirby turning north on Weslayan to Bissonnet. Traffic along this path will be restricted during the event time. The Police Department is requesting that all vehicles parked along the roadway, along the marathon course, be relocated prior to the event date.
