October 21, 2009 by Essentials Staff Leave a Comment

Bellaire Police took a high school student into custody after school officers found the boy had two Xanax pills at school.

Officers took the boy into custody at Bellaire High School on Oct. 12 around 8:50 a.m. He was later released to his stepfather.

During the week of Oct. 12 to 18, police responded to a handful of burglary calls.

On the afternoon of Oct. 13, a man reported someone had broken into his car and stolen his wallet in the 1100 block of Mulberry Street. The suspect then jumped into a silver or gray Cadillac and got away.

Also on Oct. 13, police responded to the 5400 block of Valerie Street to investigate a report of a home burglary in progress. The resident said she came home and saw the suspect flee through the front door. She described the suspect as a black man in his 20s or 30s wearing a blue shirt and blue pants.

On Oct. 16, alarms sounded in two homes in the 4800 block of Fern Street after someone used rocks to break the back glass doors. No one had entered the homes, so police classified the incident as criminal mischief.
