Police Find West U Resident Asleep In Vehicle, Make Arrest For Public Intoxication

Police arrested a 58-year-old West U resident on Sept. 8 for public intoxication after finding him asleep in his vehicle with the lights on.
Police found Edward Stevenson asleep in his vehicle in the 5900 block of Belmont at 11:23 p.m.
When Stevenson woke up, he did not know where he was and smelled strongly of an alcoholic beverage, police said.
He was arrested for the offense and bonded out of jail.
On Sept. 6, West U police arrested a 45-year-old Houston resident for public intoxication after finding her asleep in her vehicle.
Police found Sandra Ford parked on the curb in the 3200 block of University at 4:55 a.m.
When they woke her up, the officer could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle.
Ford was found to be “highly intoxicated” and was arrested for public intoxication.
She posted a cash bond and was released from jail, police said.
