The railroad crossing at Bissonnet will close this weekend from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, March 21 and 22. Union Pacific is replacing the crossing to address safety issues and to provide a smoother driving surface.
Traffic will be detoured onto Newcastle in Bellaire and Weslayan in Bellaire. Traffic congestion could be exacerbated on Bellaire Boulevard due to existing construction. Union Pacific has agreed to have police officers on duty during detour hours.
