Registration is currently underway for the third annual “Tents In Town’ urban campout to benefit Bellaire parks.

The event will be held on Saturday, April 2 in Bellaire Town Square. Check-in starts at 3:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the gazebo in Zindler Park. The event will conclude on Sunday, April 3 at 10 a.m.

Proceeds from the event will support the improvement and expansion of Town Square, a recreational area in the heart of Bellaire.

The Patrons for Bellaire Parks and the City of Bellaire Parks and Recreation Department will be co-hosting this year’s event.

“PATRONS is coordinating this event to help meet our commitment to the City of Bellaire for the next phase of funding for Bellaire Town Square,” said PATRONS president Terry Leavitt-Chavez. “PATRONS is assisting the City to raise funds for the new Pavilion, Skate Park, Interactive Water Plaza, and Great Lawn that are slated to be built in the next phases of the Bellaire Town Square redevelopment project.”

The event includes dinner, games and activities, live music, campfire songs and breakfast in the morning.

The cost to participate is $80 for one adult and one child. Additional adults are $15 each and additional children are $25 each. Late registration, on the day of the event, is available but will cost $20 extra per person.

Registration is open until March 31. To register, visit www.bellaireparks.org. Registration and payment by check only is available at the Bellaire Parks and Recreation Center, 7008 Fifth St.

For more information, contact the Bellaire Recreation Center at 713-662-8280. Registration is open to both Bellaire residents and non-residents.
