
U.S. Rep. Lizzie Fletcher (D-Texas 7th Dist.) is bringing a House field hearing on the state of hurricane and recovery research to the Bellaire-West University area next week.
Fletcher chairs the House Science, Space and Technology Committee’s Subcommittee on Environment, which will hold the session at 3 p.m. Monday (July 22) in the auditorium of Houston Community College’s West Loop campus, 5601 West Loop South (at Glenmont Street, north of Pin Oak Middle School).
Entitled “Weathering the Storm: Improving Hurricane Resiliency Through Research,” the field hearing will examine current research and how efforts can be improved, and is open to the public and media. Among the other attendees will be U.S. Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas 32nd Dist.), chair of the Science, Space and Technology Committee.
