Repairs At Wakeforest and Carnegie Expected To Take Three Weeks

June 2, 2008 by Essentials Staff Leave a Comment

Repairs to the street and storm sewer box at the intersection of Wakeforest Street and Carnegie Street are expected to be completed within three weeks. Temporary repairs were initially made to a rattling manhole cover as a safety precaution, and permanent repairs began last week.
Traffic control measures are in place which restrict traffic though the intersection and three adjoining blocks during the repairs. The pavement panel over the storm sewer box with manhole ring and lid will be removed, and the street repaved following a review of the site by an engineer. City staff will perform the work.
