Business was brisk at the polling places Saturday (May 1) where voters were casting ballots for mayor and four council seats in West University, and candidates and their surrogates were getting in some last-minute campaigning.

By 1:30 p.m., 541 residents had voted at West University City Hall with another 94 at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. Early votes and mail-in ballots totaled 2,348.

Harris County counts the votes, and the early ballot results should be available shortly after the polls close at 7 p.m. Unofficial results will be posted here.
