Scenthound — which offers both routine grooming and wellness-focused dog care — has opened its first Houston location, at 4850 Beechnut St. in Meyerland Court, across from Meyerland Plaza.

The franchise offers month-to-month membership plans starting at $35 that include essential hygiene services, with 25 percent discounts on all additional services and products. Trained technicians focus on skin, coat, ears, nails and teeth, and memberships are customized to each canine’s individual needs.

Owners Shelly and Marc Spieler and Matt Woolsey, Meyerland residents and self-proclaimed dog lovers, plan to open two additional Scenthounds in Houston by the end of the year, including one at 2621 S. Shepherd Dr. in the River Oaks area. Memberships will be able to be used at any location.
