Second Sweep Of Debris Removal Should Be Completed This Week

October 7, 2008 by Bellaire Essentials Staff Leave a Comment

The second sweep of Hurricane Ike debris removal was delayed slightly as crews took a break over the weekend. The second sweep, with two crews removing construction materials and tree debris, began Monday and should be complete by the end of the week.

According to Bellaire City Manager Bernie Satterwhite, the second sweep was not as heavy as expected, although city crews removed 30 tons of bagged debris on Saturday.

City staff asks residents to separate construction material from tree debris, and keep bagged tree debris separated from non-bagged debris.

A third and final pass to clean the area will be made around Oct. 15.
