Security Guard Arrested For Stealing Handgun From Found Shoulder Bag

Bellaire police arrested a 23-year-old security guard for stealing a handgun from found property on Jan. 20.

Bellaire police arrested a 23-year-old man on Jan. 20 for theft of a firearm.

Police were dispatched to 6565 West Loop South regarding a found shoulder bag that contained a loaded firearm.

The shoulder bag contained two guns, but the security guard had taken one of the guns out of the bag before giving it to the officer, police said.

The security guard was arrested and charged with theft of a firearm, which is a state jail felony.

On Jan. 18, Joseph Perez, 35, was arrested for stealing meat and wine from Randall’s grocery store, 5130 Bellaire.

On Jan. 18, Michael Goss, 52, was arrested for stealing six pieces of scrap wood from a construction site in the 100 block of Bellaire Ct.

On Jan. 17, an unknown person stole all four rims and tires off a 2009 Chevy Silverado that was parked in a driveway in the 4900 block of Mayfair.
