Several Car Burglaries Reported In West U.

West U. police reported several car burglaries in the past week.
The car of a Compass bank customer was broken into around 1:58 p.m. Aug. 26 as the customer was inside the bank in the 3600 block of Rice. When he came back out, a window in his car was shattered and property was missing.
A West U. resident of the 3300 block of Albans told police that around 4:36 p.m. Aug. 28 he saw a man in his car, holding his briefcase. When he confronted the suspect, the suspect dropped the briefcase, got out of the car and left in a car that was parked next to the victim’s car. The incident is under investigation. Another car was broken into around 6:52 Aug. 28 in the 4200 block of Bellaire, and a woman in the 6300 block of Vanderbilt called police around 7:19 p.m. Aug. 29 to report property missing from her vehicle as well.
