
It’s chalk on a sidewalk, but this art form that has been around since 1500 Renaissance Italy.
The third annual Madonnari Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest, sponsored by the University of St. Thomas and the Italian Cultural and Community Center, still needs participants.
The sidewalks of the UST campus will be the canvasses for students who can create new and original works ranging from master-styles to modern images.
The application fee, which covers a t-shirt and art supplies, as well as free entry into the Festival, is $40. Students who are juniors or seniors can compete for cash prizes in the competition, by applying by September 18th at www.HoustonItalianFestival.com.
