St. Luke’s Center for Counseling and Life Enrichment is presenting a free lecture titled “Maintaining Intimacy Through Communication” at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 13. The lecture will take place at the Center, 2719 Joanel, across Edloe from St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
The presenter is David Moore, who will discuss ways to keep marital bonds strong through reexamining the idea of true love, look at ways in which the traditional definition of true love is harmful to mature love, discuss the benefits of long-term relationships, examine and discuss different definitions of intimacy, explore components of intimacy from multiple perspectives, discuss strategies for mindfulness, validation and acceptance in a healthy relationship and discuss ways to re-energize intimacy and relationships.
