The Bellaire City Council continues to seek input on HEB’s proposal for a new grocery store. At a June 1 public hearing before the council, HEB presented their plan to replace the current shopping center with a two-story building that would include parking at ground level, with an approximately 70,000 square foot store and additional parking on level two.
While HEB would be the sole tenant, the property is owned by Centro NP Holdings 12 SPE, LLC. The proposed plan for the new store is the same concept that HEB presented to residents at a community meeting held in the Bellaire Civic Center this past February.
The City Council is tentatively scheduled to consider and act upon HEB’s request at a meeting to be held on June 15.
The council will continue to accept written comments on this application until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 10. Additional information is available by contacting the City’s Development Services Department at 713-662-8241.
