Bellaire police are investigating the theft of several boxes of faucets that were stolen May 2 from a home under construction in the 4500 block of Live Oak. The faucets were going to be installed in the house.
Three women caught shoplifting from the Family Dollar store at 5862 Bissonnet were arrested on May 2, after two Bellaire police officers responded to a shoplifting call. The women selected make up items, concealed them and left the store without paying.
Shortly after 11 p.m. on May 2, three Bellaire police officers responded to a call from a resident of the 4500 block of Verone about a suspicious vehicle. The officers arrested the driver of the vehicle for possession of a controlled substance, as well as possession of a prohibited weapon.
After a two-vehicle collision at 11:15 p.m. on May 2 in the 5900 block of the West Loop South, a driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated. The drivers involved in the two-car crash had pulled into the Shell gas station on the frontage road of the freeway. When a Bellaire police officer observed that one of the drivers appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver refused to provide a breath sample, so the suspect was read a statutory warning and a blood sample was taken.
After a Bellaire police officer witnessed a vehicle being driven without headlights shortly before 1 a.m. on May 5, the officer stopped the driver. The driver was arrested in the 6100 block of Bissonnet for possession of marijuana.
On May 5, a Bellaire police officer found a 2005 gray Ford F350 abandoned in the 1300 block of N. First St. The truck had been left in the middle of the street. It was later determined that the vehicle had been stolen from its owner in Houston.
