Street flooding reported as 4 inches of rain deluges Bellaire

October 31, 2015 by Charlotte Aguilar 1 Comment

About 4 inches of rain has soaked Bellaire overnight, and another line of storms is expected to hit again late morning.
The forecast doesn’t show rain moving out until around 6 or 7 p.m.
Street flooding is being reported throughout Bellaire, and water in Brays Bayou at South Rice Avenue is rising and nearing the top. There are reports in the Meyerland area of the bayou coming over the top. You can follow rainfall and bayou levels at www.harriscountyfws.org.
Check road conditions at www.HoustonTranstar.com/roadconditions if you must go out. As of 5 a.m., there were 25 high water locations inside the Loop, including flooding along the feeder roads to the 610 from Meyerland through Bellaire. The Katy Freeway near downtown, around Houston Street, was closed early morning due to flooding.
The Komen Race for the Cure scheduled to start at 8 a.m. downtown has been canceled.
Stay inside if possible — and stay safe!
