Sick children receiving treatment at Texas Children’s Hospital have a new picture to look at that may brighten their days, thanks to a student at St. Agnes Academy.

Senior art student Keri Belcher created “Cupcake Doll,” a fanciful painting that was accepted this summer into the hospital’s permanent art collection. The picture is on the 16th floor of the hospital’s clinical care building on Fannin Street.
After April 2010, the painting will be part of a rotating display in the permanent collection – popping up for viewing in buildings throughout the hospital’s network of offices and clinics.
In the spring of 2009, the painting earned Belcher the Scholastic Gold Key award, which recognizes high school students across the nation for outstanding accomplishments in art and writing.
