The Weekley Family YMCA Hosts 6th Annual Tailgate Trick-or -Treat Night

October 15, 2008 by Essentials Staff Leave a Comment

In an effort to provide a safe Halloween, Weekley Family YMCA is again offering an evening for children and their families to enjoy in a safe environment. Tailgate Trick-or -Treat takes place from 6-8:30pm Oct. 24 in the YMCA parking lot, 7101 Stella Link.
The Weekley Family YMCA parking lot will be decorated and well supervised, according to organizers.
“It’s a safe, creative and social experience for all ages,” said Shannon Aubrey, sr. program director, Weekley Family YMCA. “Families want to know that their children are being looked after on Halloween night, while engaging in enjoyable, worthwhile activities. Our YMCA is not only a safe place, but it’s also a happy and exciting destination for little kids, teens and adults.”
For six years in a row, the Weekley Family YMCA has hosted the Tailgate Trick-or-Treat event. This year’s event will include: trick or treating, costume contests, face painting, games, moonwalks, a DJ, the Chick-fil-A cow car and more. For those that are part of the “tailgating,” a $100 gas gift card will go to the best decorated car. Spaces are still available for those who would like to volunteer.
For more information or to volunteer, contact Aubrey at shannona@ymcahouston.org or 713-664-9622 or log onto www.ymcahouston.org.
