The Elaine Wood Therapy pool at Bellaire’s Evergreen Swimming Pool was reopened Thursday evening, after two days of being closed due to cold weather.
A lifeguard at the pool opened the gates at 5:45 p.m. Thursday. She said the pool had been closed due to the freezing temperatures Tuesday and bitter cold on Wednesday. The pool is usually closed when the temperature is below 45 degrees, she said.
Work is nearing completion on the bath house at the Evergreen Pool. City Manager Bernie Satterwhite told the city council earlier this week that he hoped that new doors to the building would be installed by the end of the week.
