Trial Delayed For Women Facing Prostitution Charges, Reset To March 1

A Bellaire business owner, who was arrested after police received complaints about prostitution at her business, is still awaiting trial.

Anna Wu, 61, was arrested on Jan. 12 for operating “Acupuncture by Anna Wu,” 5312 Bellaire Blvd. #A, without a license. She was released from the Harris County jail on a $500 bond.

Wu was scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 28 but it has been reset to March 1.

Wanqun Peng, 52, was arrested on Jan. 12 for two counts of prostitution.

According to documents on file with the Harris County District Clerk’s office, Peng agreed to engage in sexual conduct, “deviated sexual intercourse” and performed oral sex for a fee.

She was released from Harris County jail on two $500 bonds.

Wu was scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 28 but her trial date is pending because of an inactive bond forfeiture.

Bellaire Police arrested the two women following a two month investigation.
