The National Weather Service is warning residents of southeast Texas to start reviewing hurricane plans as it keeps an eye on a menacing system that could cause trouble along the Gulf of Mexico by the end of the week.
What’s now an upper-level disturbance over Georgia is expected to move into the Gulf Tuesday and could turn into a tropical depression or tropical storm, according to the Houston-Galveston office of the NWS. Some models have it moving toward Louisiana or Texas starting Wednesday and causing heavy rainfall along the coast Friday and Saturday.
“Better stay dialed in to the weather this week,” warned the Twitter account of the area NWS office on Monday.
