With Christmas barely six week away, the Grinch is coming to Houston for a 12-day stay beginning Nov. 24.
Theatre Under The Stars will present the critically acclaimed Broadway production of “Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical” at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts just in time for the 2010 holiday season.
The classic, whimsical tale will take the stage from Wednesday, Nov. 24 through Sunday, Dec. 5.
The Grinch has broken box office attendance records for two consecutive years on Broadway during its limited holiday engagements at the St. James Theater in 2007 and Hilton Theater in 2006. The New York Times praised the production as “100 times better than any bedside story.”
“Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical” features the hit songs “You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas” from the original animated series.
Max the Dog narrates as the mean and scheming Grinch, whose heart is “two sizes too small,” decides to steal Christmas away from the Holiday-loving Whos.
The cast is led by Stefan Karl, best known as “Robbie Rotten” of Nickelodeon’s “LazyTown,” as the Grinch.
Tickets start at $24 and are available online at TUTS.com, by phone at 713-558-TUTS (8887) or in person at the Theatre Under The Stars Box Office, located at 800 Bagby in downtown Houston.
