A man who a month ago was told not to enter St. Mark’s Episcopal School was arrested June 15 after entering the church. Carl Raymond Summers was arrested around 9:05 a.m. on charges of criminal trespass.
A home in the 4200 block of Judson was broken into as well June 15. West University Police responded to a burglary call around 5 p.m. Sunday, in which a rear window of the house had been forced open and jewelry and cash were missing from the residence.
On June 17, a West U. resident came to the police station to report that her wallet was stolen from her home in the 3700 block of Wroxton on or around May 23. The victim told police that she was holding a graduation party for her son, and left her wallet in the master bedroom closet during the celebration. She initially thought she misplaced it, but later discovered that her debit card had been used at Macy’s, and her Blockbuster Video card had been used to rent movies that were not returned. Police are investigating the incident.
The son of a West U. resident was arrested at his parent’s home in the 4200 block of South Judson after his father called police to report trespassing. According to reports, the son was involved in a disturbance in Houston earlier in the day June 17, in which charges are still pending The son was told by his father that he was not welcome in the father’s house, but the son entered the residence and locked himself inside. Police entered the house with a key, and found the son hiding in a back bedroom. He was arrested for criminal trespass.
Police stopped a driver in the 6500 block of Fairhaven June 19 after an officer saw he was not wearing his seatbelt. After pulling the vehicle over, the officer discovered that the driver, Alberto N. Morales, did not have a valid driver’s license or car insurance, and Morales was arrested.
Two cars were broken into, one on June 20 in the 4100 block of Marlowe and one on June 21 in the 3100 block of University Boulevard. In the Marlowe incident, a purse was taken from an unlocked car. On University, a briefcase was stolen from the front passenger seat after the thief broke out a window.
