Walgreens closes for cleaning after worker tests positive for virus

April 8, 2020 by Charlotte Aguilar

The announcement Tuesday on the webpage for the Buffalo Speedway Walgreens.

The Walgreens at 5280 Buffalo Speedway, just outside West University Place, was forced to shut down temporarily Tuesday (April 7) for disinfecting after an employee tested positive for the coronavirus.

The company listed the closing on the store’s webpage. ABC-13 reported that the worker had last been on the job on Sunday, and that workers who may have been exposed are self-quarantining.

Calls to the store’s number were forwarded to a central office, where a spokeswoman said information provided to her was that the store was able to reopen by Wednesday and that the employee who tested positive did not have direct contact with the public.
